Feature Creep vs. Startupbootcamp
Maybe some of you have noticed: There’s currently not much going on our Facebook and Twitter stream. The reason for this is simple and has a name: Startupbootcamp Berlin.
After getting accepted to join the accelerator program in August, we spent the last two weeks getting loads of inputs from the most awesome bunch of startup mentors Berlin has to offer. And in-between all the talks, mentoring sessions and desperate attempts to find some time for coding, one thing got clear to us: We have to focus.
Over the last couple of months we spent too much time developing a portal while we should have focused on building the best video mashup and remix tool you could imagine instead. We suffered from a heavy case of feature creep and thought building a follow function or nice looking profile pages would be more important than getting Weavly out. So we made a decision: Fuck it, ship it.
What we did in the last few days was stripping down Weavly to its core and finishing a package we can publish this week. You won’t find a lot inside this package - just the Weavly editor and a way to publish and spread your video mashups and remixes. But it works like a charm and we can’t wait to see you using it.
